Kenarava Group Welcomes New Board Member

The Board of Directors of Kenarava Group Limited is pleased to announce that Mr. Alvin T. Munyasia has been appointed as a Non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 31st March, 2020.

Alvin is a seasoned Programmes and Policy Advocacy Specialist with significant knowledge and expertise in Grant Making, strategic Partnership formation and management, Capacity Building and trainings, policy analysis, communications, Research and learning. He has 13 years’ experience spanning across Africa; having worked for a Grant Making agency and various international, Regional and National organisations such as Oxfam Novib, Africa Women Communication and Development Network. Currently, he is with Oxfam International as the Pan Africa Programme lead on Food Security and Climate Justice.

With an in depth understanding of International development, he has worked with the African Union, implementing agricultural programmes with small holder farmers and sustainable development. Alvin has a firm grasp of the necessity of building relationships at strategic and political levels, forming partnerships with key senior government leaders, commissioners for rural agriculture and technical experts.

He Provides strategic leadership in implementing Oxfam’s continental campaigns on agriculture and projects on youth economic empowerment, developing strategies and methodologies for capacity building of partners; relationship building and spearheading programme design and leadership development; managing strategic partnerships and networks in the agricultural sector and climate change processes within the United Nations Framework on Climate Change.

He has built experience designing grants and implementing programmes across various themes such as
Natural Resource governance, Accountability and Civic Engagement, Labour Laws and Workers rights, Gender and Youth Economic Development. He brings the following specific expertise and knowledge; Grant Making strategies in Kenya, The HORN of Africa and beyond, Partnership formation and coordination, Regional understanding of both political, social and legal concerns on Natural Resource Governance and Accountability, Partnerships formation and sustainability, Research design and implementation, Advocacy and communication skills with fluency in English and Kiswahili languages and Strategic learning and documentation of skills.
